W. G. Runnings congratulates Virginia Wade (second from left) and Pearl Kennon on 25-year records. Robert Hamilton, Sheeting Weave Room foreman, is at right. Coincidences Seen In 25-Year Anniversaries When W. G. Runnings, mill manager, went to the Sheeting Mill recently to present two 25-year awards, he did not realize how convenient it would be to get the two recipients together. The awards were for Virginia Wade and Pearl Kennon, who had just com pleted 25 years of continuous service. They are both weavers and, believe it or not, are weavers on the same set of looms, Mrs. Wade on the first shift and Mrs. Kennon on the second. By further coincidence, they live on the same side of the same street (Ridge Avenue in the Draper section) with only three houses between them. Their continuous service records show that Mrs. Wade was employed on April 22 and Mrs. Kennon on April 23, in 1945. Bailey Children Nine Teams Take Part In Fieldcrest League Nine teams are participating in the Fieldcrest Men’s Softball League which opened the season in April. Each team will play two games a week, using the DeHart (Spray) Park and the Draper YMCA Park. The 24-game season is scheduled to end in July, followed by a play-off tournament to determine the champion ship. Any Fieldcrest employee who wishes to play on his mill’s team should get in touch with the team manager. Teams and managers are: Blanket Mill, John South; Karastan Weave, Harry Davis; Karstan Finishing, Ron Cain; General Offices, David Wilson; Bedspread Fin ishing, Ken Vaughn; Blanket Ware house-Finishing, Jack Shelton; Bed spread Mill, Colon Hudson; Sheet Fin ishing, Gerald Warren; and Sheeting Mill, Dan Squires. Kenneth Ray, age 10 months, and Teresa Ann, 2% years old, are children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bailey, of Cas cade, Va. Mr. Bailey is employed as a warehouseman at the Karastan Service Center.
