Employee’s Son Is Selected For Governor’s School June 21, is designed to help prepare gifted students for their future tasks of creative leadership. Jimmy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rus sell Ferguson, was selected for his abil ity in mathematics. At Morehead he is a member of the Honor Society, Math Club, football and baseball teams. Jimmy’s mother, Mary G. Ferguson, is employed in the Setting Department office of the Karastan Mill. His grand mother, Ethel Gilley Thornton, and aunt. Ruby Matthews, are employed in the Sheet Finishing Mill Sewing De partment. Women Bowlers End Season With Banquet The Fieldcrest Women’s Bowling League concluded the season with the Data Processing team winning the league championship. Runner-up was the Special Projects team. A banquet was held at the Mar-Gre restaurant honoring the team champions and individual prize winners. Bobbie O’dell, president of the league, presided at the banquet and secretary, i\nn Wilson, presented special awards. Jenny Robertson, selected by secret bal lot as the 1970 Bowling Oueen, was un able to attend due to illness. Martha Mitchell my Ferguson, a 17-year-old jun- at Morehead High School, is among , 400 outstanding North Carolina high °ol students selected to attend the brnor’s School this summer for eight Governor’s School, which starts ^NDAY, may 2 5, 1 9 7 0 Shown in the ac companying picture is Martha B r o o k s i e Mitchell, who was one year old when the picture was made. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Mitchell. Mar tha’s grandfather, Joe Mitchell, works in Sheeting Carding. Chrystal McNeal ' Pictured at left is Chrystal Yvonne Mc Neal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert W. McNeal. Chrystal was six months old when the picture was tak en, is now eight months old. Mr. Mc Neal works in the Blanket Warehouse, Eden.
