THE MILL WHlS^ The Dicksons Are Shown As They Try Out A New Number. Zeb And Mamie Dickson Publish First Album Mrs. Dickson, who studied piano and voice at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music at Dayton, Va., is organist and assistant choir director at Draper United Methodist Church. She is also director of the Eden Choral Society. Zeb and Mamie Dickson recently pub lished their first record, a Christmas album, under the Carolina label. Mrs. Dickson, the former Mamie Link, is a cost clerk in the Draper Sheeting Mill Accounting Department and her husband teaches remedial mathematics in the Eden City Schools. Music has long been a common bond between the two of them. Their first meeting, in fact, was at rehearsals for a production of The Messiah. The first side of their record is an unrehearsed jamboree (entitled Caro lina Jamboree) first taped in 1962 and remarkable for its spontaneous dialogue and laughter. It features Mr. Dickson and his fiddle and the “Carolina Sing ers,” accompanied by Mrs. Dickson at the piano. The second side is a collection of mel ancholy songs in the Blue Grass tradi tion sung by Mr. Dickson. Both words and music were written by him and the arrangements were done by his wife.
