J H. E. Williams (left), top winner in rose show, is presented one of his awards by John R. McGavisk, of the Blanket Mill, president of the Eden Rose Society. Williams Receives Top Honors In Rose Show H. E. Williams, of the Engineering Department, won top honors in the Eden Rose Society’s 12th annual rose show held recently at the Fieldcrest Store, Eden. Mr. Williams was winner of awards for Queen of the Show (best individ ual bloom in the show), Kiing of the Show (next best individual bloom), for the best group of three hybrid teas of different varieties and for the best group of five hybrid teas grown by a member of the Eden Rose Society. In all, Mr. Williams was winner of four silver awards and numerous prizes donated by local merchants. The show attracted a total of 349 en tries. There were 189 designated classes but the late winter weather had left some of these classes with no entries. Shift Foreman Cleo Smith was promoted from super visory trainee to shift foreman in the Weaving Department at the Bedspread Mill, effective May 1. Mr. Smith was first employed at Fieldcrest in May, 1966, as a Monfort cutting machine operator in the Sheet Finishing Mill Cutting and Sewing De- Towel Mill Recognizes Top Weavers, Fixers The Fieldale Towel Mill’s outstanding weavers and loom fixers are listed be low for the most recent periods of rec ord.
