'vy PAT McLAWHON McLawhon Assigned To Blanket Finishing Mill The appointment of Allen P. (Pat) McLawhon, Jr., as a shift foreman in the Cutting and Sewing Department at the Blanket Finishing Mill has been announced, effective recently. Mr. McLawhon previously was shift foreman in the Spinning Department at the Draper Sheeting Mill. Ho joined the Company in February, 1970, as a supervisory trainee and completed the supervisory training program in June of that year. He was assigned to the Draper Sheet ing Mill for additional training and was appointed a shift foreman in the Spinning Department in October, 1970. A Reidsville native, he graduated from Reidsville High School and ser ved four years in the Air Force. He earlier was employed in the drapery plant of Burlington Industries in Reids ville and attended the North Carolina School of Automation where he studied computer programming. Credit Union Will Pay Another 6% Dividend Members of the Fieldcrest Mills Cred it Union in all locations will receive a 6% per annum dividend, figured on their average monthly balances and credited to each member’s share account as of June 30, 1972. The dividend was authorized by the Credit Union’s board of directors at their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 15. The interest rate on Credit Union savings accounts was increased to 6% effective July 1, 1970. It previously was 51/2 % and has never been less than 4% since the organization of the Credit Union 14 years ago. The Karastan Cash Sales Showroom, which handles sales of rugs and car pets to employees, will close at the end of business June 30 and will reopen on regular schedule July 10. The Fieldcrest Stores at Eden and Columbus, Ga., will be open during the mills’ vacation period except that the stores will be closed Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Employee’s Daughter Wins Honors In Math Rosemary Barksdale m>ade the highest score ever made at Morehead High School in the National Math Exams and scored 10th among the 5,200 stu dents who competed in North Carolina. She received an award for making the highest score at her school. She also was this year’s recipient of the DAR Good Citizenship award. The National Math Exams are spon sored by the American Society of Ac tuaries and Mu Alpha Theta, honorary mathematics organization which has a chapter at Morehead High School. Miss Barksdale is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Barksdale of 1215 Robin Road, Eden. Her father is a mem ber of the auditing staff at Fieldcrest and is a long-service employee of the Company. A rising senior.
