Hankins And Edwards Promotions Announced
D. L. Hankins has been pramoted to
manager, production planning and con
trol for the rug and carpet division,
reporting to J. P. Kitchens, division
vice president-rug and carpet manu
facturing. Mr. Hankins formerly was
manager of Karastan production con
trol.
K. L. Edwards, previously assistant
manager, was promoted to manager of
Karastan production control, reporting
to Mr. Hankins. D. K. Manuel, manag
er of Laurelcrest production control,
also reports to Mr. Hankins.
A native of Eden, Mr. Hankins has
been with Karastan continuously since
1956. He was first employed as a con
trol tester and then was a production
control technician for six years.
He became an administrative assist
ant in 1963 and was a data project an
alyst in 1965 and 1966. He was ap
pointed assistant manager of Karastan
production control January 1, 1967, and
was promoted to manager of Karastan
production control in April, 1971.
Mr. Edwards is a native of Cascade,
A’a., and received his B.S. degree in
management from Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University. He has
been employed at the Karastan Rug
Mill since 1968. He worked as an in
dustrial engineer until he became a
staff assistant in the plant manager’s of
fice in April, 1971. He was named as
sistant manager of Karastan production
control in October, 1971.

George Beliczky has been promoted
from supervisor trainee to shift fore
man in the Yarn Preparation Depart
ment at the Bedspread Mill.
Mr. Beliczky began employment at
the Bedspread Mill in 1968 as a roving
frame tender in the Carding Depart
ment. In 1969, he went to the Karastan
Rug Mill as a rug server.
He worked in various classifications
at the Karastan Rug Mill until he be
came a pre-supervisory trainee in 1972.
He became a supervisory trainee in
February, 1973.
