Three Complete Long Service
Two Fieldcrest employees
recently completed outstanding
records of 45 years of service
with the Company. They are
Dora K. Parrott, a raw
materials clerk at the Columbus
Towel Mill, and Ruth B.
Ramsey, a blanket ticketer at
the Blanket Finishing Mill.
Another employee has
recently completed a fine record
of 40 years of service. He is Noah
Griffin, a fixer in the Picking
Department at the Columbus
Towel Mill.
Each long service employee
has received the appropriate
Fieldcrest service emblem, a
certificate for Company
merchandise equal in dollar
amounts to the years of service,
and a letter of commendation
from president William C.
Battle.
Mrs. Parrott began continuous
service on February 1,1929, as a
mill payroll clerk at the
Columbus Towel Mill. In 1963,
she became an accounting clerk.
She was named a raw materials
clerk, her present classification,
in 1970.
Mrs. Ramsey began
employment on February 4,
1929, as a folder at the Blanket
Finishing Mill. Later that year
she was made a sampler. In
1944, she became a blanket
ticketer and bagger. She then
worked as a blanket stapler,
blanket packager and packager,
and blanket unloader before
becoming a blanket ticketer in
1962.
Mr. Griffin began continuous
service on February 1, 1934 as a
third hand in the Carding
Department at the Columbus
Towel Mill. In 1968, he became a
fixer in the Picking Department
and he remains in that
