Since Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. purchased the mills in 1953, the machinery at the Draper Sheeting Mill has been com pletely revamped. A number of new looms were installed, including some of the most modern available. The remain ing approximately two-thirds of the looms and the mill’s cards were upgraded and modernized. In recent years out standing advances were made in modernization of the yarn manufacturing equipment. As an important part of Fieldcrest, it is expected that the Draper Sheeting Mill will continue to make improve ments as it changes to meet market needs and to advance the working conditions of its employees. His father is employed in the Mechanical Development Department. His mother, Virginia, is employed in the Drape Department at the Bedspread Finishing Mill. Glaucoma, Diabetes Clinic Is Scheduled Fieldcresters over 40 years of age are invited to take advantage of the free glaucoma and diabetes clinic sponsored by the Eden and Draper Lions clubs. The clinics are held at the Rockingham County Health Department at Eden every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 9 a.m, until 4 p.m. Interested persons may call the Rockingham County Health Department for an appointment and free check for both glaucoma and diabetes, the leading causes of blindness. Additional information may be obtained from any member of the local Lions Clubs. Kimberly Jo Roberts celebrated her seventh birthday on January 23. Her mother, Kathy Roberts, is secretary to S. A. Robinson at the Bedspread Finishing Mill. Kimberly’s father is Dwight Roberts of Reidsville.
