Warren is The Mill Whistle reporter for the Fieldale Towel Mill. She has been a reporter for most of the years that she has been with the com pany. Employees at Fieldale are encouraged to turn in to her their news, pictures and “Buy . . . Sell . Swap” items for publication in The Mill Whistle. Mrs. Warren has 25 years of continuous service but has worked more years than that with some breaks in her service. She has been in the Sewing Department during all of her time with the company. She has worked on practically every job in the department, including hemmer, inspector and hemmer-instructor. For the past eight years she has been a second hand. She began writing for The Mill V\histle about the time the publication was started in World Wat II and wrote a column called “Town Drag.’’ She started each colum “Dear Boys” and wrote news items that she thought would be of interest to the fieldale service men were far from home H Mrs. Warren teaches the ladies’ Bible class at First Baptist Church at Collinsville and is director of the adult Sunday School Department. She directed the choir for a number of years and sings in the choir. She has held every office in the Collinsville Garden Club and at present is the club chaplain. She currently is conducting flower workshops for the club. She is active in many other areas of community life at Collinsville. A native of Grayson County, Va., she is married to Andrew Warren, a shift foreman in the Weave Room at the Fieldale Towel Mill. They have a son, assistant manager of a Winn-Dixie store. The funeral was held April 24 at First Baptist Church, Eden, where he was a member, with the Rev. Harry D. Wood officiating. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A native of Stokes County, Mr. Wilkes was the director of employee benefits and services for Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., and' had 34 years of continuous service in the Industrial Relations Department. He was first employed in 1941 as a personnel assistant and roanager of Spray Civic Associa tion. He was employment manager for several years before being placed in charge of employee benefits and services in 1952. He was a past president of the Eden Lions Club, secretary- measurer of the Fieldcrest Mills Credit Union and treasurer of tbe Meadow Greens Country Llub and the Tri-City Agri cultural Fair.
