Recent promotions at the
Blanket Finishing Mill and
Blanket Warehouse have been
announced as follows:
Jesse M. Burton, production
control supervisor, was given
the additional responsibility of
woven blankets and now has
supervision of production
control for non-woven, flocked
and woven blankets and for the
Blanket Finishing Mill.'
Michael E. Corum was
promoted from supervisory
trainee to office manager at the
Blanket Warehouse. Cheryl U.
Tolbert, supervisor of customer
service for Fieldcrest and St.
Marys blankets, was given
additional responsibility for the
supervision of customer service
for all blanket customers.

JESSE M. BURTON
David L. Edwards, previously
section foreman in the Cloth
Finishing Department, was
appointed section foreman in the
Beck Dyeing Department.
Wilbert R. Price was promoted
from shift foreman in the Beck
Dyeing Department to section
foreman in the Cloth Finishing
Department.
Mr. Burton has continuous
service with the company since
1936 and has worked all of that
time in the Blanket Warehouse.
He first worked on various
clerical jobs, was chief clerk and
then office manager. He was
foreman of the Film Bag
Department before becoming
production control supervisor in
1971.
Mr. Corum joined the com
pany as a control tester at the
Blanket Griege Mill in 1969 just
after his graduation from
Western Carolina University
with a B.S. degree in business
thanagement. He was an
industrial engineer at the
Karastan Rug Mill before
entering the supervisory
training program in 1973.
Mrs. Tolbert at one time was a
typist at the Karastan Service
Center but resigned. She
rejoined the company in 1968 as
a laboratory technician at the
Blanket Greige Mill. She later
was chief clerk at- the Blanket
Warehouse and became
supervisor of customer service
in 1972.
Mr. Edwards first joined the
company as a supervisory
trainee in 1966. He worked at the
Bedspread Mill as a trainee,
shift foreman in the Weave
Room and laboratory
supervisor. He later was a shift
foreman and section foreman at
the Bedspread Finishing Mill.
He had been section foreman in
the Cloth Finishing Department
since June, 1973.

Janney Visits Scout
Donald Janney was among the
15 scouts and scouters who
returned August 22 from a trip to ^
Philmont Scout Ranch near
Cimarron, New Mexico.
At Philmont they enjoyed 10
days of camping and back
packing on the ranch’s 215
square miles of land. The
activities included bow hunting,
gold panning and mining and
wilderness survival.
Donald is the 14-year-old son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Janney, of
Eden. His mother (Barbara) is
employed in the Industrial
Relations Department at the
General Offices.
