Members of mill jPanagement greeted the '^turning retirees. Winners of attendance prizes Were: Bedspread Operation, ^ttie L. McCullough, a coverlet; William F. Talbott, $25 in Mharters; James E. Harris and obert L. Wilkins, bedspreads; wpi'astan Operation, Bessie T. *3i’k, 9 X12 Karaloc carpet; Ola Walker, $25 in quarters and China S. Priddy, 3x5 rug. The Bedspread luncheon was served in the Inspection Department at the Bedspread Mill and the Karastan luncheon was in the Winding Department at the Karastan Rug Mill. The Columbus Towel Mill and Phenix City Plant 24-Year Club held their annual banquet Saturday, October 18, at the Fieldcrest Mills Lake. The club welcomed 13 new members, bringing membership to 240. J. D. McCosh began the meeting with the invocation. New members were presented by W. S. Ayscue, Columbus Towel plant manager. They were Claudie C. Allen, Nettie B. Crooks, Lawrence B. Galloway, Edgar Glass, Alma C. Jones] Willie J. Meriwether, James M. Scroggins, Harry W. Toliver, Jessie E. Woodham, Christine D. Brooks, Dollie M. Phelps, Lois E. Quattlebaum and Luther Wilks. The new members were recognized by R. W. Harris, Phenix City plant manager. C. L. Kametches, division vice president and general manager, welcomed the new members and expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the club members.
