Honored For Long Service Six Fieldcrest employees were honored recently for completing 40 years of continuous service with the company. They are: Howard C. Honey cutt, loom fixer, Alexander Sheeting Mill; Edward L. Joyce, department foreman. Bedspread Mill; Alice C. John son, weaver, Alexander Sheeting Mill; Robert M. Smoot, general foreman, North Carolina Finishing; Claude H. Snider, line up utility oi^rator. North Caro lina Finishing Company; and Andrew W. Warren, shift fore man, Fieldale Towel Mill. Each long-service employee has received the Fieldcrest 40- year service emblem, a $40 gift certificate for company merchandise, and a letter of commendation from William C. Battle, president of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. Mr. Honeycutt began continuous service on December 23,1935, as a battery filler at the Alexander Sheeting Mill. He became a loom fixer, his present classification, in 1%5. Mr. Joyce began continuous service on December 19,1935, as a card tender at the Bedspread Mill. He later worked as a clerk, assistant foreman and shift fore man before becoming depart ment foreman of the Shipping, Warehousing and Receiving Department at that mill. Mrs. Johnson has been a weaver at the Alexander Sheeting Mill for all of her 40 years of service. She began em ployment on December 18, 1935. Mr. Smoot, who began em ployment at the North Carolina Finishing Company on December 3, 1935, worked as a second hand until 1951 when he became general foreman of the Dye Department. He became general foreman of the Dye No. 2 and the Grey No. 2 departments HOWARD C. HONEYCUTT ALICE C. JOHNSON ' ■*«*••* EDWARD L. JOYCE ANDREW W. WARREN in 1970 and continues in that classification. Mr. Snider began continuous service at North Carolina Finishing on December 30, 1935. He worked as a packer, yarder, server packer and shaders, measure assistant, winder assistant and merchandise assistant before becoming a line up utility operator, his present classification, in January of 1975. Mr. Warren began continuous service at the Fieldale Towel Mill on December 16, 1935 as a weaver. He later worked as a fixer-in-training, loom fixer and assistant foreman before becoming a shift foreman in the Weaving Department in 1970. He continues in that classification. .//'SwsTMiiL Draper Christmas Parade Fieldcrest Mills’ professional float in the ninth annual Draper Children’s Christmas Parade had a Cinderella motif. The highly-successful parade was sponsored by the Draper Y’s Men’s Club, Eden Fire Station No. 2 (Draper) and Draper merchants.
