Earning the C.A.M. desig

thorough five-part written
C.A.M. examination covering
personnel management,
financial management, ad
ministrative services, systems
and information management,
and general management skills.
In addition, each C.A.M. must
have at least two years of man
agement experience, high
standards of personal and pro

leadership ability; and must
have made a contribution
toward more effective
administrative management.
An accreditation panel com
prised of leading administrative
managers and educators
reviews, and must approve, the
credentials of each individual
before the designation is
awarded.
Charley Young, a mechanic at
the North Carolina Finishing
Company, has the reputation
there of being “a little more than
thrifty,” according to informed
sources.
When the price of gasoline
increased again recently, he
decided that it was time to do
something about this increasing
ly expensive modern mode of
transportation.
On reaching a decision, Char
ley promptly saddled up “Ole
Sandy” and rode her to work.
The pair slowed traffic on the
Yadkin River Bridge, but
arrived safely only to find that
the old hitching post had been
replaced with asphalt and
parking lines. But Sandy was
made welcome by everyone and
seemed to enjoy the adventure.

“Some young people are
inclined to sit back, ponder
about themselves, try to figure
out how to ‘get their heads
together.’ I tell them: Plunge
ahead, try anything and
everything, don’t look back and
don’t try to figure out the future.
