% 1 Happenings 60 Years of Service At Fieldale Mr. and Mrs. Chester A. Whitt, both employees of the Fieldale Towel Mill, are congratulated by D. W. Sprouse, left, Fieldale plant manager, on completing 60 years of service between them. Sheckells Children 10 Years Old Youth Is Honored For They both started to work on the same day thirty years ago, July 10, 1946. Mr. Whitt is in the Weaving Department and Mrs. Whitt, Virginia, is in the Cutting and Sewing Department. Gary Jacobs celebrated his 10th birthday on August 8. He is the pitcher for the Shelco Rams, Little League baseball team. His father, Frank Jacobs, Jr., is em ployed in the Screen Room at the Foremost Screen Print Plant. Kenan Dwayne Sheckells, five years old, and Sonia Renee Sheckells, six years old, are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Booker Sheckells. Their mother, Billie, is a former employee of the Bed spread Mill. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dew and Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Sheckells. Mr. Dew is retired from the Blanket Finishing Mill and Mrs. Dew, Fern, is employed at the Sheet Finishing Mill. GOVER LOAN From Your Credit Union Outstanding Athletics Richard Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Wright of Columbus, was chosen as a Babe Ruth Athlete of the Year for 1976. The 14-year-old received this award in recognition of his athletic ability and contributions to his team, the North Columbus All-Stars. Richard is a pitcher and an infielder. The team won the Georgia state championship and went on to play in a regional tournament in Monroe, N.C. There they won their first two games with Mis sissippi (14-8) and Tennessee (6- 2) but were eliminated in the third and fourth games when they lost to Virginia (9-2) and Tennessee (9-2). During the regional play, Richard was a pinch hitter three times and got three hits. Celebrate Birthdays Andrea Jean DeHart, who was four years old August 11, and Jody Lee Pulliam, who was one year old August 4, celebrated their birthdays on Sunday, August 8, at a party at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DeHart, both of whom are employed at Blanket Finishing Mill. He had nine years of experience with Liberty Mutual insurance in the areas of accident prevention and indus trial hygiene. He is a member of the Industrial Hygiene Association and the Acoustical Society of America. He is also a certified safety professional. A native of Ninety-Six, S.C., Mr. Ivester is married to the former Betty Patrick of Jackson, Miss. They have two daughters, Periann and Gay Lynn. The family is now residing in the Lynrock Terrace Apartments in Eden while their house is under construction.
