Her house abounds with just about every kind of house plant imaginable and now she’s grown a three and one-half pound potato in her garden. Her house plants are all very large and obviously very healthy, but her potato is really a whopper. “I don’t know why everything grows so well. All I do is put them in dirt and they just seem to grow and grow. I don’t do any thing special,” she maintains. But aside from her talent with plants, Mrs. Blackwell is very special for another reason. A retiree from the Blanket Greige Mill with 25 years of con tinuous service, she had 12 chil dren and raised an additional one, a grandchild. Her husband, Charlie Ernest Blackwell, is also a FieldcresC Swine, Hong Kong Fl Shots Given At NC! Employees at the North Caro lina Finishing Company received their Swine flu and Hong Kong flu vaccines on October 13 and October 27. The club now has a total of 262 members includ ing 16 new members who joined this year. ’The meeting was called to order by R. E. Reece, area personnel manager and the invoca tion was given by J. D. McCosh. New members were presented by R. W. Harris, Phenix City Plant manager who also recognized all of the long- service employees. W. S. Ayscqe, Columbus Towel Mill plant manager, gave the address- Drawings were held for attendance priz^ entertainment was provided by “The Happl Quartet.” New members inducted into the club * meeting were: Bonnie J.
