I New Canteens Please Swift Employees The canteens at Swift Spinning Mills, Columbus, Ga., are among the most modern in the company following upgrading of the facilities in the past several months. When Swift was purchased by Fieldcrest in 1973, the canteen service was being furnished by outside vendors. Swift came under the Fieldcrest Canteen Service last July. Since that time, Fieldcrest has built completely new canteen rooms in the Carding and Spinning Departments,^ has completely remodeled the Winding Department Canteen and partially remodeled the canteens in the Combed Yarn Department and in the Office area. Each newly-built canteen has paneled walls, a new ceiling and new floor and is equipped with the latest- type vending machines. Included are microwave ovens, dollar bill changers, service bars and machines vending coffee, milk, soft drinks, candy, pastry, soups, sandwiches and cigarettes. James C. (Bub) Money, Swift personnel manager, said “The new Spinning Department canteen was built new, has latest-type equipment. Shown in the attractive facility is Joyce Coates (now resigned). Shown in the Carding Department canteen room, from left to righ^’ are Gloria Crowell, Willie Ford and John Baldwin. In Winding Department canteen are Patricia Waldrup, Marie Waldrup, Sharon Hicks and J. C. “Bub” Money. , THE MILL WHlS^
