Happenings...
Ann Arnold has taken a waste
product from one of the Fieldcrest’s
plants and used it to teach fourth, fifth
and sixth grade Eden students an
ancient art form.
Mrs. Arnold, who teaches art in the
Eden Elementary Schools, used
shredded paper from the Bedspread
Mill to teach children the art of

attached to a background or hung for
decoration.
Material for quilling can be
purchased in craft shops, but Mrs.
Arnold saw some of the shredded
paper and got the idea of using it in
her classes.

Middle Ages to decorate the altars of
churches involves rolling and folding
small strips of paper or other
materials into designs which
“It worked just beautifully,” she
said. “Many of the children made
Christmas tree ornaments and they
were lovely.”
