McGehee Writes A Chapter In Personnel Book DR. WILLIAM McGEHEE Dr. William McGehee, retired Fieldcrester, is the author of a chapter entitled “Training and Development Theory, Policies and Practices” in the fifth volume of the American Society of Personnel and Industrial Relations handbook of personnel and industrial relations. This volume is one of eight covering all aspects of personnel and industrial relations published by the Bureau of National Affairs. Dr. McGehee has in process two journal articles dealing with research in the area of industrial psychology. He also is currently working on a text in industrial psychology and when that is finished he plans to write a history of industrial psychology. His major previous publication was a book, Training in Business and Industry, written with Paul Thayer. Dr. McGehee also is the author of more than 50 technical articles published in psychological journals over the past 40 years. Since his retirement from Fieldcrest four years ago, Dr. McGehee has been a visiting professor of business in the School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has another mandatory retirement coming up in January, 1978, when he reaches age 70. “I would like very much to continue teaching somewhere, if possible,” he said. “But if I don’t teach, I have enough writing plans to keep me busy.” Before he joined Fieldcrest in 1947 as director of personnel research. Dr. McGehee was head of the Department of Industrial Psychology at North Carolina State University. He had a 26-year career with Fieldcrest before retiring in 1973. Gird Of Thanks The family of I.
