Father And Son Share Golfer’s Dream
Two Fieldale employees, Tom
Foley and his son, Tim, have had a
golfer’s dream come true.
After playing golf for only a few
years, each of the Foleys hit a hole-
in-one in 1976. Tim started his
spring off right when he made a
hole-in-one on March 20 at the
eighth hole at Gordon Trent Golf
Club in Stuart, Va.
Not to be outdone by his son, Tom
Foley caught up a few months later
by sinking his hole-in-one in
October. His dream came true on
the second hole at Linwood Country
Club in Martinsville, Va.
The proud father and son golfers
had their lucky golfballs mounted
on trophy plaques as souvenirs of
the special occasions.

Fieldale, Va.
Blue-Ribbon Project
JIMMY TREXLER of Salisbury
recently won a blue ribbon for
his project entry in the District 3
N.C. Student Academy of Science
contest at the University of North
Carolina at Charlotte.
A student at East Rowan High
School, Trexler’s blue-ribbon entry
was entitled, “The Correlation of
PH and Dissolved Oxygen.” His
project aided Rowan County in
capturing seven of 13 blue ribbons
in the science contest. Fourteen
counties were represented at the
district contest.
Trexler is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
James T. Trexler, Sr. Mr. Trexler
works in Grey No. 1 Department at
North Carolina Finishing Company.
