Safety Barbecues Held At Two Locations

Employees in two locations were recently honored for their fine safety
records with in-plant safety barbecue dinners on ail shifts.
Employees at the Karastan Worsted Plant enjoyed a safety barbecue on
April 26, in honor of achieving 4,604 average hours per employee with
out a lost-time accident. They had worked a total of 250,577 safe hours.
Mike Strother, plant manager, said, “I’m extremely proud of all of these
employees. Each one has done his or her part in making our plant a safe
place to work and I know that each one will continue to do so.”

These employees had achieved 2,181 average hours per employee without
a disabling injury, and a total of 132,520 safe hours.
W. F. Robertson, plant manager-Blanket Greige Mills, thanked all the Non-
Woven employees for their safety performance and for their fine worK
throughout the year. “I think it is really wonderful that you have achieved
this great safety record,” he said. “It’s a real pleasure to work with sucn
great people. I know you will keep up your fine work in the coming
months,” he concluded.
