HUNDLEY RHODES EASTRIDGE Students Receive Recognition, Honors And Awards Children of five Fieldcrest families recently received recognition for outstanding academic or extra-curricular achievements. Fieldale Rickey Byrd, president of the North Carolina Iota Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, was named Outstanding Man of the Year during the chapter’s Founder’s Day celebration. He is the grandson of Mary Walker who works in the Sewing Room Mill. Cynthia R. Hundley, was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, an academic honor society at Radford College, Va. Her father, Frank W. Hundley, is an inspector in the Cloth Depart ment at Fieldale. Virginia in Charlottesville with a 3.1 average for his junior year. Gerald Burch, son of Doss H. Burch, Jr., a loom fixer in the Weave Denise Rhodes, a 1977 graduate of Morehead High School in Eden, recently received recognition for never missing a day of school in 12 years. Her mother, Carol Rhodes who works in the Industrial Relations Department at the Gener al Offices. Room at Fieldale, was named to the Dean’s List at the University of Mark Eastridge, a ninth-grader at Holmes Junior High School in Eden, has been awarded the Most Valual'. Wrestler trophy. In May he won N.C. United Wrestling Federal Championship and last month j placed fourth in the regional fii^J in Florida. He also received National Scholar-Athlete Award ! His mother, Carolyn, works in ® Yarn Preparation Department | the Blanket Greige Mill. His gra>J father, Ronald iPharis, works in f: Weave Room at Draper Sheetii^ Mill. Recent Graduates ... TINSLEY Tinsley Aids United Way .. .JOHN WILLIAM SNOW is a 1977 graduate of Stoneville High School. His mother, Maria D. Coleman, works in the Drape Department at the Bedspread Finishing Mill. . . .CURTIS DOUGLAS SMITH graduated from South Stokes Senior High School on June 13. His mother, Ada, works in Unit Print at Fore most and his brother, James, works in the Warehouse. A native of Eden has been recognized for his outstanding work as a Loaned Executive with United Way. Ken Tinsley, nephew of Anna Tinsley who works in the Weave Room at Draper Sheeting Mill, was featured in the United Way Newsletter for his management of fund campaigns for several dozen businesses in Washington, D.C. Tinsley was a participant in the Riggs Bank’s Management Training Program. Tinsley’s cousin, Jerlyne Taylor, is an employee at the Bedspread Mill. Hopkins Attends N.C. Boys’ State Ted Wayne Hopkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hopkins of Eden, recently attended the thirty-seventh annual session of Tar Heel Boys’ State at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Hopkins, a student at Morehead High School, participated in the week-long program to learn more about citizenship and local and state government. His father is a mechanic in Plant Service Department at Karastan Rug Mill. 25th Anniversary HOPKINS Mr. and Mrs. James Moi>J Bullins of Eden recently celebr^ their silver wedding anniverS^ They were married 25 years ag® June 7, 1975.
