Three appointments have been
announced in the Technical Services
Group.
William C. Little is appointed
manager of Analytical Research. A
graduate of the University of North
Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S.
degree in biology, he
was previously employed by the
Mecklenburg County Environ
mental Health Department.
J. Michael Grimes is appointed
manager of Finishing Research and
Technical Assistance. Formerly
with the Timme Corporation and
J.P. Stevens, he is a graduate of
North Carolina University with a
B.S. degree in textile chemistry.
W. Gerald Moore is appointed a
product development engineer. A
graduate of Auburn University with
a degree in the textile management.
He was formerly with West Point
Pepperel.

40 Years' Service
Since 1937 Robert Woodall has
worked continuously for Fieldcrest
at the Blanket Greige Mill in the jobs
of filing carrier, lease out man, reed
and harness man and tie in helper.
For completing an outstanding
record of 40 years of service,
management has honored the reed
and harness repairman with the
Fieldcrest 40-year service emblem,
a $40 gift certificate for company
merchandise and a letter of
commendation from William C.
Battle, president of the company.

Susan Bernard Joins Karastan
As Home Fashions Coordinator
Susan D. Bernard has been named
to the new position of home fashions
coordinator for the Karastan
Marketing Division. The
announcement was made by George
V. Grulich, vice president
of Marketing Services.
Ms. Bernard will be responsible
for the creation, development and
administration of store fashion
events for Karastan, Grulich said.
She will work closely with Karastan
dealers in staging these programs
and also will make some personal
commentator
events.

Ms. Bernard was previously in the
bed and bath fashions division of
Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., where she had
been fashion and publicity
coordinator for the past year.

A member of the American
Society of Interior Designers, Ms.
Bernard had been president and
design consultant of Interior Design
Concepts in Atlanta for two years
before joining Fieldcrest. Prior to
that she was president and designer
for Bernard’s Interiors in
Honolulu and before that a design
consultant for Liberty House, a
home furnishings store in Honolulu.
A native f Minneapolis, Minn., she
studied art and fashion illustration
at the University of Wisconsin, later
branching into interior design at the
New York School of Interior Design
where she received a certificate in
1964. She received a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree in Textile Design
from the University of Hawaii in
1970. Ms. Bernard is a member of
the New York Chapter of the
National Home Fashions League.
