"Fieldcrest Entertains"
With Fall Store Event
For those hostesses running out of creative ideas for home entertaining,
help is on the way. Fieldcrest’s Store Event for Fall, 1977 will send a Field
crest hostess to several major cities throughout the United States beginning
in September.
The event, billed as “Fieldcrest Entertains,” will feature six different times
of day and the how-to’s of entertaining during each of the time periods.
Fieldcrest will supply the hostess who will show customers how to get more
mileage out of their sheets and towels.
Also, Sean Driscoll a.nd Christopher Idone of New York’s Glorious Food,
a highly acclaimed catering service, will be on hand to share tips on food
and how to entertain creatively from morning until midnight.
The six times of day will be featured against a backdrop of an oversized
clock. The 45-minute program will begin with breakfast in a bed adorned
with Halston’s Rose pattern. In addition to the menu for that meal, Fieldcrest
will feature such how-to ideas as a tray liner, napkins, a bedside tablecloth,
tea cozy, and a headboard made form the same pattern as the sheet.
The next vignette will show a luncheon featuring a circular table covered
with Halston’s Stripe pattern in blue. Following that will be some great ideas
for a picnic on the new Missoni Festive Spirit comforter, with props fashion
ed from the same collection.
Tea-time will be next on the clock. For this. Glorious Food will create tiny
sandwiches and bite-sized goodies as the Fieldcrest hostess gives the
audience more quick-and-easy decorating tips to go along with the recipes.
Evening will be the setting for the final two meals. A cocktail party will be
built around a long table with tablecloth and napkins made from the Classic
Chromatics collection. The final scene will be a table laid for an elegant din
ner for two with candles, flowers and beautiful china. As the show opened,
so it will close — with Halston’s Rose pattern.
All the Fieldcrest decorating ideas and Glorious Food recipes will be put
together in a booklet which will be distributed at each show so that the
audience may take home the ideas discussed during the show.
The exciting event is scheduled to open in Detroit at J. L. Hudson’s on
September 15.
