Frasier Accepts
Position At Shaw
William Lamar Frasier, a Field-
crest Foundation grant recipient,
has completed the Masters of Art
program in theatre at Tennessee
State University and accepted a
position at Shaw University. He will
be an instructor and the technical
director of the theatre there.
He received a Fieldcrest Found
ation grant to attend North Carolina
Central University where he major
ed in drama. Frasier is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Frasier.
His father works at the Blanket
Finishing Mill.
ROBIN GURLEY, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Daniel Gurley, Sr., holds a
certificate of official membership in
the Atlanta Braves and Colonial
Bakeries Birthday Club.
He celebrated his 12th birthday on
July 4 at a baseball game between
the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati
Reds. He received the certificate at
a birthday party at the ball park and
his name appeared in lights during
the game.
His mother, Gladys, is a circuit
inspector in the Wining Depart
ment at the Automatic Blanket
Plant.

Fieldcrest In Finland!
E. L. Smith (above) and his wife found “a little bit of home” far from home.
They were touring Scandinavia in July when they came across this Field
crest towel display in Stockman's department store in Helsinki, Finland.
The Smiths are from Charlotte, N. C. They are the parents of Terry
Howell, manager of Information Services at the Automatic Blanket Plant in
Smithfield.

2nd In Softball League
The Fieldale Towel Mill women’s softball team was runner-up I"
Martinsville Industrial League for the 1977 season.
Compiling a record of 11 wins and four losses, the Fieldal®
came In second in the playoffs and second for the season amoCl
nine teams competing. ,

Jarrell Wins
5 Trophies
At Festival
Elizabeth Jarrell, student teacher
at Kallam School of Dance in Eden,
won five trophies at the World Youth
Festival of the Performing Arts in
Atlantic City, N. J. The festival was
held July 8-10 at the Chalfonte
Haddon Hall.
She is a graduate of the Beauty
Spot Modeling School. In the senior
modeling division she won first
place in the swimwear, lounge wear
and evening gown competition. She
also won first place for a special
“Spotlight On You” 30-second tele
vision commercial and the dance
trophy.
Elizabeth is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Gilbert Jarrell. Her father
works in the Cotton Carding Depart
ment at the Blanket Greige Mill. Her
brother, Thomas, works in the
Shipping Department at the Central
Warehouse.
