Myers Accepts Design Award Reba Myers, director-Karastan Designing, has been presented the American Society of Interior De signers’ International Contract Pro ducts Design Award, the top design prize in the commercial carpet field. She accepted the award, won by Karastan in June, on behalf of her department. Presenting the award to her were Francis X. Larkin, president of the Karastan Marketing Division, and a senior vice president of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., and Robert V. Dale, vice president of Styling and Design, Karastan Marketing Division, both of whom accepted the award from ASID on June 21 in Chicago. Karastan has won the prestigious award twice in the past three years; the first time in 1975 for its “Ber- bereau” carpet, and this year for “New Projections.” The ASID award is unique in that it is determined by a professional panel of judges on significant pro ducts in the contract market. The products are selected according to what these professionals consider the best designs currently in the field rather than from entries sub mitted by manufacturers.
