He has received the Fieldcrest 40-year ser vice emblem, a $40 gift certificate for company merchandise and a letter of commendation from William C. Battle, president of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. Starting as a cleaner at the old hosiery mill in 1937, he later was a knitter at that mill. He has held the jobs of learner, cloth hauler, loom cleaner and weaver in the Weave Room at the towel mill. Oops! Two areas at the Blanket Finish ing Mill were inadvertently omitted from the list of 100 percent Fair Share departments published in the November 8 issue of The Mill WHistle. They were Print Shop and Film Bag Department. The Mill Whistle apologizes for this omission. Columbus Towel Mill reporters are Sara W. Sellers, Plant Manager’s Office; Joan M. Morgan, Spooling-Office; and Janice J. Bailey, Carding-Office. Collecting news at Swift is Betty S. Wright, quality control technician no. 1. JANICE BAILEY Employees at these two locations are urged to submit news infor mation and pictures to these report ers. Suitable material on employees’ unusual hobbies, community acti vities or awards, in-plant events, etc. can be used in The Mill Whistle.
