Laurel Hill Carpet Mill Is Second in Safety Employees at Laurel Hill Carpet Mill recently cele brated Fieldcrest’s second best safety record with a total of more than one million safe hours through October, 1977. These employees had worked an average of 6,174 hours per employee without a lost-time accident. A total of 1,060,677 hours had been worked since the last lost-time accident in September, 1974. The company honored employees on all three shifts with a dinner November 17 in recognition of their out standing safety record. “Our employees have set a fine example in main taining an accident-free record for more than three years,” said E. J. Allard,-plant manager. “And they are to be highly praised for working more than one million hours in a safe, efficient manner.” SAFETY-CONSCIOUS first-shift employees receiving their re ward are (left-right) Bill Locklear, James Chavis, Mitchell Cribb and John Blount.
