year, during February, with the
March 1 deadline. Announcement of
the awards of the scholarships will
be made in April.
The employee (parent) must have
at least one year of continuous
service as of the date of the
application.
The applicant must be planning to
attend a four-year college or univer
sity full-time and must not have
attended college or have any college
credits.
The scholarships are awarded on
the basis of high school grades and
scholastic aptitude for college work,
plus consideration of citizenship and
financial nefed.
The Fieldcrest Foundation
awarded 13 scholarships to the
children of employees in 1977,
making a total of 129 scholarships
that have been given since the
program was started in 1960.
At present there are 48 sons and
daughters of Fieldcrest employees
attending colleges and universities
with the aid of Fieldcrest Scholar
ships.
