I’m very proud of these people.” Upon learning of the recent celebration of this remarkable feat, George Jolley, former plant manager, congratulated the Alexander employees. “Fine coopera tion, fine vyork, fine people,” he said, “and I wish them continued success.” He is now plant manager at Fieldale Towel Mill. Alexander Sheeting Mill employs approximately 415 people on three shifts. The Weave Room contains 816 looms running continuously, an average of 51 looms per weaver on each shift. In December, 1977 the efficiency rate reached 96.2 percent. In January of this year, a high of 96.4 percent was achieved. Personnel manager George Howard sums it up nicely, “It just goes to prove what people working together toward a common goal can achieve.”
