Rr\LEIGH ROI€’ If anyone ever vjants to take a trip bo Raleigh—sightseeing or otherwise— there are foiir Montreaters who would be very efficient guides* To prevent their being swamped by deraants, no names are given, but their initials ares Lucille Blackwell, Louise Bradshaw, Martha Rose Miller, and Jean Mash, In case none of these are able to go, Eveljm Morris or Jo Davis might be willing to substitute. However, not having stayed as long as the previous four, they may not be as efficient and we don’t highly recommend them. One piece of advice—lot Miss Morris drive for you. First, be sure not to know any eating places good ones that is. Service station attendants are very helpful in suggesting placeso Please stop twice and ask they tell you two different places. Since you aren't very hungry (this is at seven o'clock p, m.), it will have to drive back about four miles Be sure and get in Raleigh' at 9'30 at night. Since your guides know the town so well you will have only to strain your eyes to read the street names and numbers. I'Jhcn you reach your ho-tel, tourist home, or -wherever you can s'tay, be sure and crowd around the teleph-'no. Since State College has only a d^zen or more dorms, you can call all of them to get to speak to one person. He will then have to c-'me from first flo-jr to third, Lucille can get good connections, (with the help of several male tclephone-an-• s-wers). There is one fellow who lives in 101 Bagwell—of course cvery-'ne at State knows this by now. If you are going to a convention be sure and walk twelve blocks. On your way to the convention building it will start raining. Since you're from Mon- treat you won't mind this—IF you have a scarf. Naturally, you haven't made pro visions for rai'n and yu have no scarf. The Raleigh stores are very up-to-date, and you can purchase a scarf at the d^or, (No customers are allo-wed in the stores- before 9*30, that is.) Lunch boxes will be provided at the convention. We hope you have fried chicken so your hands and face will be thoroughly cleaned—-with grease. After lunch you can recline in the Lounge, Don't feel out of place because Montreat girls -will be enveloped in a veil of smoke. When you go shopping please enter a very exclusive hat shop. Perchance an ;ld Montreater will come in (Shirley Crudill). Amid squeals and shouts of joy the salesladies -will slightlj'- turn pale and think that perhaps a Sputnik III has been launched. If Louise goes with you, please don't w'rry about her hair, and make no pro- •vision for it whatsoever. It holds curl wonderfully -well, especially if she curls it four times in one day. If Lucille goes with you, by all means plan on a date ■with a State boy. She knovjs oodles and oodles of them. Of c )urse, HE won’t call her and if, when the "dates" come, there will be only one HE xjill immediately be monop-'lized by Lucille. Naturally yi\x will -want to go to a movie, Ch-oose a very exclusive theater.' where you can see a double feature for thirty-five cents. The movies are up to date starring such actors as Gabby Hayes, (If Lucille goes, several "gentlemen" will choose to sit with you. She dicidcs after the eleventh h-^ur that the seat is reserved.) After the movie, stop at a food stand and buor groceries for a party. Please count on Lucille and her date joining you. When you return, they have gone to a restaurant, so you get one thousand extra caloi'ies thanks to Lucille and Bob, Sunday morning you -will be ready to leave Raleigh at nine-fifteen. When one of your party (Jo Da-vis) drives up ac ross the street from the place where you are staying (which is just across the street from the Governor's Mansion), please rush to the -window and ooh and ash over the Governor, ^on’t be disap pointed when you find it is a M.ontreat girl and her parents, Wnen you leave Raleigh please get y-iur turns confused, Y->u will never- * theless end up at Montreat. ~ i :
