Page Tw» THE J.MtETTE October 1965 HATS OFF TO FRESHMEN We have been -wanting to say for a'long time that we think the freshman class is great. ¥e were -here'-when they arrived andwere extremely surprised by their clean- cut look and their politeness, ¥e know that, at last Mon treat has been given students worthy of her name. We wefS aBtonished at how faithfully our freshman obeyed us during "Rat Week". We know that they did not do this because they were scared but beca.uae. they, were good sports. We were even more impressed to find them studying so hard. It is indeed good to see students a'.t college study—after all, that is what college is for. Our freshmen workhard in class and just as hard out side of class. Freshman for the most part make up the newspaper, the choir, the conservation club, and' there- organized Thalians, We have heard rumors from freshmen that some of them are planning a pep band. We congratulate you, Freshmen, for your choice of Mon- treat-Anderson for we need good people like you. We, t h e staff, want more than anything for The Dialette to be the true voice o f this college. In the past, as the Sophomores will remember, there was no news medium 0 n this campus except the grape vine, 0 f course, some 0 f you will hardly call The Dialette as it is now a "news medium." Rut our paper cannot become the center of campus life unless you support it. We are not asking that you send us a big check ( although thatmight not be a bad idea) but we are asking each one of you to read the paper and sometimes t o make some suggestions, Helpus to make it better ^ your sugges tions. The Dialette is the official publication of the stu dents of Montreat-Anderson College and is published bi-monthly at Montreat, North Carolina.
