Page Two The Dialette DO YOU CARE? Student apathy can quickly and easiljr bring about failure of a school. '^'Jhat is it that can -'s such a lack of concern among college students today? iJhat kindles it and nourishes So readily that it is enabled to spread across the nation? A.nse-:ers for these questions cannot come in any clear-cut statements. Toomich goes into the development of student a- pathy for it to have a simple answer for its cause. One thing is certain, how ever. There are ways to, at least, lessen the acutness of such student feelings; 1y plac ing responsible people in the positions of trust and honor, by forming groups to discuss and trj' bo work out campus pro blems, and by faculty and stu dent representatives working toge-t to curb any develop ments of apathy. College students are young adults and should bear their responsibility to tr.eir school - that of keeping a healthy attitude. If everyone nourishes • the that attitude it will not matter if no one attends church or classes, then there will soon no longer be any church or classes. It is as simple as that. Students have a responsibil ity to care for their college. Our college has promise of a bright future. It wouldbe a pity if such a t ning as student apathy would ruin this future.
