SEMESTER OFF TO MUSICAL START GREG HOWARD The band's appearance was one of their highlights. Their use of choreography, costuming, lighting, and explosives made It pleasing to the eye as well as the ear. Opening up for the band was Florence, S.C, recording artist Pam Grimsiey. Grlmsley provided a complimentary contrast to Heirborne's music. She has an Incredible soprano voice which was highlighted on such selections as, "My Soul Desire" and "Worthy to be Praised". The spring semester Is getting kicked off In high musical fashion with sorhe great concerts, January 23rd was the date for a great concert with the local Christian rock group Helrborne. The concert v/as postponed a week but, the show finally did go on and it was worth the wait. The band provided a high energy show of driving rock music with a messaae of love, hope, and Jesus Christ Helping out her mom on a song was Pam Grimsiey's ten-year old daughter Kerri. This kid has great potential and captured the audience with the duet "From the Heart" and her solo rendition of Amy Grant's "Wise Up." Tuesday the 26th, we were honored to have Benson recording artist Anthony Burger perform in Convocation. Burger, who has been named Gospel Musician of the year for the past eight years, gave an outstanding piano performance of the old standards like, "I’d Rather Have Jesus" to contemporary numbers Including, "How Excellent" and "Undivided", Burger left the audience spellbound and on their feet, February promises to be just as great a month with concerts by Russ Hollingsworth and Newsong. Russ Hollingsworth gave a great performance here last year and has penned songs for such artists as Denise Williams and Sandi Patti.
