Welcome to the second
issue of the Aletheia. I sit
here at this keyboard as the
newspaper takes shape
around me and I can't help
but get excited. We have
twenty-four people on staff
at the Aletheia now and
we're actually having fun at
it. I hear many people
around campus complain,
"There's nothing to do at
Montreat..." or "You can't
get anything done about
it...the administration
doesn't care." BULL!!! If
folks on campus would stop
complaining for a minute
and try to figure out how
they can make things better,
we'd all be having a lot
more fun as well as learning
what it takes to get along in
the real world when we
leave this place. The key is
don't wait for someone else
to take the initiative. Just Do
It!
A suggestion that comes
to mind is to take an active
part in our Student
Government Association.
Some of you may say that
SGA can't do anything.
Again I say BULL! The
SGA needs to know what
we, the students, are upset
or bothered by and what we
want to see changed. How
can we expect the
administration to respect and
work with us when we act
like children and incessantly
complain. I challenge ALL
students to come to tiie next
SGA meeting on Monday at
7:30pm and let's start acting
like adults and stop
complaining. It's time to DO
IT!

Why did you come to
college? Lets hope your
answer to this question is
not because your parents
made you, but to further
your education.
As a college student you
must not consume yourself
only with the academics that
are being taught, although
this is of great importance,
but also with the fellowship
and leadership abilities you
will need later in life. M-AC
students are blessed with
many organizations that can
help a student build these
needed requirements of a
well rounded educator.
Organizations such as

Letters...
Dear Editor,
First, I must
congratulate the newspaper
staff for an awesome first
issue of the new year. After
working as assistant editor
last year, I can appreciate
the hard work that goes into
every issue of the Aletheia.
Good job, ladies and
gentlemen!
Now for the reason I'm
writing this letter. I have
heard numerous comments
concerning this first issue of
the Aletheia; some good, but
mostly complaints. I
believe that the number one
argument is over the "sports
page". Personally, I loved
it! This is not to say that
sports are not important to
the college. They are.
However, athletes are not
the only people who make
up the college campus.
There are other activities
here and there are other
stories to be covered by the
newspaper staff, besides
just sports.
Also, if one of you
complaining people would
like to take some initiative
and write some articles for
the Aletheia, whether they
be sports articles or
whatever, I'm sure the
Alethia staff would love
some help.

Association, Fellowship of
Christian Athletes,
Yearbook committeeman,
and Newspaper Staff are
just a few of the
organizations that would be
welcome your help and
membership.
If you are not involved
in a group, get involved. In
the next issue of the Aletheia
we hope to publish a
complete list of all of the
groups at M-AC that are in
need of your support. If
you are a leader of an
organization, please let me
know about your
membership needs, times of
meetings, and how an
interested student can join.
Please send all inquiries to
