(Page 'Eight, TJu SUetheia Off the Beaten Path By; Justin Ramb Staff Writer Are you bored of sit ting in your dorm room on the weekends? Are you tired of those hot and stuffy classrooms? Break away and give Asheville Bicycle Adventures a try. At Asheville Bicycle Adventure (A.B.A.) you can experience the out doors. There are lots of trails to take in North Carolina. While there, experience perhaps the most beautiful sites in the country. There are thousands of miles of trails that wind through the mountains and val leys, and they are calling Montreat-Anderson stu dents to them. Richard Dunn and Art Shuster, your tour guides, are the owners of A.B.A. They are pro fessional cyclists with the combined cycling ex perience of over 30 years. Mr. Dunn is a former U.S. National Cycling Team Member. In addition to tons of state and regional championships, Dunn was a member of the 1976 Olympic Cycling Team. Mr. Shuster was the first professionally sponsored mountain bike racer in the Eastern U.S. Art has held the U.S. Cycling Federation's Category 1 Ranking and has won many state and regional championships. Both owners provide all the essentials in out door cycling instruc tions, quality main tained mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, eyewear, and light nu tritional snacks for lunch. You pick the degree of difficulty from the Blue Ridge Moun tains to Mount Pisgah. If you want a challenging ride, they will test your skills and ability and climb mountains most people would only dare on foot. Maybe you want to enjoy the incredible scenery with a nice lei surely ride, A.B.A. can handle any request. "When a group goes out on a ride, it is their tour, we act as guides, help ing along the way, but the main emphasis is to go on a very fun safe tour," said Mr. Dunn. A.B.A. offers half-day and full-day tours and for the most adventur ous bikers, over- nighters. For a half-day with all the necessary equipment and food, it costs thiry-five dollars per person; for the full- day it runs sixty-five dollars per person.
