(Page !four, The Piktheia Montreat Soccer By; Sarah Whitecotton Staff Writer This year. Montreat soccer has been character ized by a young team with new players. This year has been a growing year, but next year the team is going to be better than ever. Two bright spots in this year's team include Moose Aksakl andHunter Stevenson. Aksakal leads in scoring with 8 goals in 7 games, while Stevenson, the captain, has shown wonderful leadership and guidance for the team Open SATURDAYS 8 until 1 411W. The soccer team has a record of 3-5-1 with wins coming against Young Harris, Montreat Alumni, andTruett-McConnel. The team has 4 matches remain ing in the season. If they are able to win all four matches, their record will be7-5-l which would yield an average percentage rate of 58.33%, making this year’s socccer team the best in Montreat's history. The standing record dates to 1985 at 9-7 with a 56.25% average percentage rate. Next year, the soccer team will join the NAIA and the NCCAA confer ences and will play a much more difficult schedule.
