Tage Jour, Jhe Metfieia A Different Something By: Shannon Ann Hodgins Staff Writer If you are the artsy type and enjoy a bit of an adven ture on occasion, there is a place you may like to try. Malaprop's, a bookstore and cafe, located on 67 N. Lexing ton Avenue in Asheville is great for reading, eating, and generally being merry. Mal aprop's also has interesting specialty items, such as cal endars, bookmarks, music. Makin' it great! 502 W State St. Black Mountain Second, Jfi-ird, Jourth, and Jijftd llllliB Good Thru 11/7/90 w/ Coupon ^ and buttons. Located upstairs in Mal aprop's is a bookstore which has a wide variety of books to choose from. These books are reasonably priced and affordable, which is quite convenient for the student bookworm. Selections range from classic literature to modem 20th century poetry, non-fiction and fiction. In ad dition, they have goodies such as calendars you won't find in the average bookstore. As you walk down the stairs you will find a small cafe which serves everything from espresso to bagels to sandwiches, and many as sorted drinks. Coffee seems to be the favorite among the regulars. There is alsoa small section outside where you may relax and enjoy the fresh air with your meal or a book. I enjoyed going there and must say I intend to return. The prices for everything are reasonable, the people are very friendly, and it is a neat place to go if you enjoy expe riencing some of the more offbeat things life has to offer. If you are an English major, this place is a must-try for you.
