Tage “yive, ^Ifie SUetfieia Men's Basketball By: Sarah Whitecotton Staff Writer The 1990-91 men's basketball team for Mon treat-Anderson College is coached by Steve McNamara. This is his fourth year coach ing at the college level, with much experience and wisdom gained in his many years of expe rience. The team con sists of eight sophomores and four freshmen. The Coach states that several players do have the po tential to play for larger colleges, "several sopho mores could be division 1 players, but it is still early to say," Last year's team set a school record of 21 wins and the coach has high expectations for this year's team to improve. The strongest point in the team is our strong aggressive defense that creates our offensive- hand in hand." Education also plays an importsnt part of the athlete's schedule. This year's team members are only allowed one class cut during the semester, they have a monitored study hall four nights a week and are required to maintain a 'C average (Coach's policy). "This meets the national eligi bility. We would be cheating the players if we did not care about their education." Coach McNamara stated. Next home game is Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30.
