The book is entitled Confederate Goliath: The Battle of Ft. Fisher and is on sale in book stores now for $25.00. Are we truly a Na tion without God? Many would have us believe that we are no longer "One Nation Under God, With Liberty and Justice For ALL." They would tell you that Charles Darwin and Carl Sagan were right about the ori gins of man and the universe. They would tell you that as man tri umphantly progresses into the coming centu ries' that we ourselves will be able to find the cures for all disease and hunger, and we alone understand the myster ies of our universe. That we creatures consumed by our passions will be able to solve all of our own problems. Do we really believe this gar bage? Many students have had the opportunity to attend some of the local Pro-Troop Rallies, we find them dominated with heart-felt and sincere prayer, not by slogans and chants like their Anti-War counterparts. The front page of a local newspaper two Sundays ago pictured a young black soldier on our front lines, written on the side of his Kevlar helmet, for all the world to see, was the quote "May the Lord Bless Usll" Even at the San Francisco 49ef-New York Giant game Amer ica's faith was evident; with less than ten sec onds to go on the clock and one point behind, the Giants had the op portunity to win with a field goal. The Giant defense did not stand on the sidelines cheering for their kicker, instead they were gathered in circle, heads bowed, praying. Our President spent an entire day at Camp David, in prayer. After wards he sought the counsel of leaders in the Kingdom of God, like Dr. Billy Graham. Then, and only then, did he com mit our troops to action in the Gulf. Our media wants us to believe that God is dead, that we no longer need, or heed Him, that we as a nation have abandoned Him. Yet we should say, we must say NO to this lie of Satan. America is, as she always has been, a nation of prayer. From our Presi dent, to our troops, to the people here at home, even to our football teams, we are a Nation Of Prayer. When the going gets tough God's silent army stands forth and wages war on evil. We are, and hopefully always will be: One Na tion Under God, With Liberty and Justice for AW.
