‘Page Pight, ‘Ifte ^theia A Message From SCA By: Marcus Duarte SCA President Greetings from the Stu dent Christian Association! I would like to take a moment of your time to fill you in on what the SCA has b^n doing this year. As you should know, our organi2ations are established to provide minis try to those in need. Through the leadership of many won derful and devoted individu als, we have been able to reach out and give our time and lives to many people in the community. The Presbyterian Chil dren's home in Black Moun tain, has received much en couragement and support through the Big Brother/Sis ter program; The Juvenile Evaluation Center has had a strong group of ladies that go about once a week and spend good, quality time with youth that need role-models as they try to correct their lives. We also have had a group of stu dents that go out to the Black Mountain Center and visit the handicapped. Another organization that has been going strong is the Habitat for Humanity opera I Come one, come all for... Face Painting, Pie Throwing, Food, Raffies, Tie-Dyeing, Raffies, Music, and a Dunking Booth In other words... Join us at Spring Fest '91 Saturday, March 23rd, 1-4 p.m. Between McGregor and the Library. tion in the area. Through several visits, a few students have spent their time and muscle to provide housing to less privileged families. On Campus, we have had a great time in our small group meetings. The ministry po tential of the individuals on their campus is great if we will take it. And, the Mis sions staff of the SCA has just finished out their incredible trip to Michigan for the Ur- bana 1990 conference. Finally, Vespers has been a real joy and growing time for many who attend. It is nice to have a place that we, as students and faculty, can come together and worship God and learn about His many ways. Overall, as you can see, the SCA has been and is very active in our community and on our campus. I pray that you have found your place in these special ministry groups. Remember that it is never too late to participate, and with out your help , the SCA could never be. Keep your eyes open to the activities that we have planned for the rest of the year, we would love to see you at as many functions as possible. So for now, that is all! See you in Vespers.
