Tage Tkvo, The ^tfieia Changes ...from page one Basketball Team. BothKathy and Sally will return, but not as RITs. Sally will become the College Counselor, and teach one class. Kathy will continue to teach and will add Director of Resident Life to her job description. The incoming Commander-In-Chief of McGregor will be Steve Bar rett, the new soccer coach. Like every great leader, Steve is backed up by a great woman and is the proud fa ther of a newborn. For once an RD will be kept up late at night by more than just his lovesick residents. A replace ment for Sally in M-A Hall has not been found, though I have volunteered for the job and have been rejected. This year has seen the departure of Vice-President Dick Forester, Ruby Carson, and Lou Johnson. President Vaughn, Mrs. Andrews, Mrs. Letters to the Editor Dear Editor, This year I made a new friend; when I needed it most. She smiled at me and softly said, "How can I help?" Tenderly, she of fer^ me Kleenex...a whole box. And she listened, and listened, and listened. She spoke kind words of imderstanding and ac ceptance. And then she listened more. Never once did she minimize my suf fering. That pain was real to her as it was to me. "What would I have done without her?" I asked myself. Then I realized that I need not even speculate. For the God that had brought me to Montreat- Anderson also brought Anne to me. Oh, she never told me that she had been sent by God (never told me that she was a Christian). She showed me with her Christ-like compassion. On Thursday morning, the first week of the 1991 Spring semester, I experi enced thelove of the Living God. On that day 1 looked into the eyes of Christ...on the face of Dr. Anne Cro- martie. Thank you Anne! Thank you God! Anonymously in Christ Dear Editor, I feel I need to apolo gize for not giving credit where it is due. I’m writing this due to the information that was published in the last Aletheia. I was quoted as saying that time man agement was the key factor to balancing activities I am involved in. Time manage ment is an important fac tor, but as I read that article I felt shame and guilt. I hurt someone who truly loves me and makes everything in my life possible. This friend has stuck beside me through thick and thin and never gives up on me. This friend is the most impor tant factor not only in my life, but in everyone's. Sometimes we all overlook this friend at times and for get to thank Him and give Him praise for who He is and what He has done. Praise be to God who makes all things possible. Thank you Lord!!! Debbie Crain Price, Dr. Cromartie, Mr. Anderson, and possibly Mrs. Saunders will be leaving us at the end of this semester. Some have left by choice and others by dictate. All will be missed by some, and most will be missed by all. To each of you we say, God Bless and Keep You. Self-Defense Offered By: Traci Folk Staff Writer / All of you are aware that a representative from the Rape Crisis Center spoke in convocation a week and a half ago. He and his assistant mentioned that their organi zation taught self-defense classes. School nurse, Judy Keels, talked to them about the classes because she felt they would be both benefi cial and informative for the students. These classes are usu ally held one hour a week for eight weeks, but can be con densed into a four week course. There has been much interest from the student body, but due to the short time left in the semester they will not be held on campus until the fall of this year. If you ha ve any questions concerning these courses, please contact Nurse Keels in the Whitehaven building. Quotables "Call me Street car because of my desire for you."
