Page Eight, The Aletheia MISCELLANEOUS Spirtually Speaking Volleyball Underway "Seize the Day" By Shayna Siekkinen It is a time for new beginnings. Just before daybreak the world, in peaceful serenity, waits with silent anticipation as in the quiet stillness of the morning, high above the mountain tops, the brilliant sun rises to welcome yet another crisp new summer day. A new semester has begun at Montreat- Anderson College, and once again it’s gates offer a warm welcome to students both old and new. Every student passes through the gates - each with his/ her own goals and expectations, and each of them bringing the unique and different personali ties, abilities, hopes and dreams that offer variety to Montreat. The silence is broken by the sounds of laughter, and the air begins to fill with excitement. Old and new, each student is ready to make a new start. The time has come to set goals for the fall semester, and everywhere there are choices to make and opportunities to grasp. Montreat-Anderson College challenges students to grow and improve in every aspect of their lives, and college life provides many opportunities for physi cal, mental, intellectual, and spiritual growth. At the end of this semester, many students will look back and be amazed at how much they have changed. Goals are much easier to set than they are to accomplish, though, and during the semester it is easy to get discouraged. As the semester goes on, the new ness will soon wear off. There will be obstacles that will stand in your way and make you want to quit. There will be projects due, papers to write and test to take and, as life becomes more hectic, we tend to forget the im portant things. As we rush through life we forget to stop and realize that each precious moment we live will never occur again. Your college years are supposed to be the best years of you life. Will you find the time to stop to cap ture and treasure each moment? Seize this day, and channel every ounce of your energy to make the most of each and every moment and, when you look back, you will be able to smile and feel that you have lived the most wholesome, thrilling, ful filling life possible! “Carpe Diem! ” -1 challenge you each to seize the day!!!
