If you are a full-time stu
dent of Montreat-Anderson
College, you are a non-voting
member of the Student Gov
ernment Association. The offi
cers of S.G.A. meet every week
to discuss student needs and to
seek to faithfully represent you.
Ifyou have a concern or an idea
to improve Montreat-Anderson
College, you have a right to
voice your opinion. Your voice
will be heard if you come to
S.G.A. Legislative meetings.
We can’t represent you unless
you tell us what you want.
For several weeks the
S.G.A. Agenda Request slips
have been available next to the
mailboxes in the Belk Center.
Several students who are non
voting members of S.G.A. have
offered some outstanding sug
gestions, and these have been
acted upon. For example, Justin
Ramb proposed that the name
ofParents Weekendbe changed
to Family Weekend since stu
dents often invite other family
members and friends to attend
this event; the S.G.A. voted to
send a written proposal to the
administration. Zorba Dimet
ros suggested that the interna
tionals need a voting member
on S.G.A. Legislative to better
communicate their special
needs.

Parent’s Week
end is always a time
of excitement here
at Montreat-Ander
son. Families reu
nite after being
apart for sometimes
months and spend
quality time with
one another. This
year was special -
we had the annual
Harvest Fest sched-
uledfor the occasion.
Harvest Fest ran from 1:00
pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday,
November 2, 1991. There was
definitely something there for
President Hurt enforces the parking
regulations at the Harvest Festival
everyone. It had everything
from miniature golf, football
toss, to a speed gun booth - with
the infamous Montreat
ous
cop,Cindy Clinard.
For the artsy types,
there was a face
painting booth, tie-
dye table, and of
cour se th e decorati ng
of Bob Graham’s car
(which looked won
derful). Last, but not
least, for all the
Conan’s there was
th e rolli ng log pill o w-
bash, dunking booth
„ and the annual car
bashing.
Along with all these strenu-
physical activities, there

Editorial Comment
By Justin P. Ramb
Have you ever actually sat
down and looked over what we
actually pay for to go to Mon
treat-Anderson College? If you
have not, please allow me to
shed some light on one particu
lar item that all students at M-
AC pay for. In the 1991-1992
Montreat-Anderson catalog
there is an item stated, “Ath
letic Fee...$100.00 a year.” But
a question comes up, what ex
actly does this so called fee go
towards? There were three
notions floating around the
college of what exactly this
money is used for. The first,
was that this money is used for
activities like intramural and
activities that we, as students,
are supposed to participate in.
The second notion, was that the
money is to go into facilities, for
example, the much-to-be-de
sired weight room in the gym.
However, I think many can
agree that not much money has
been poured into such facilities
(although the pool looks really
good.) The last notion was that
this money is used for students
to get into the athletic games
for free as opposed to paying
each time for a ticket.
As you probably can see,
such an item in the catalog can
cause quite a confusion. Yes,
maybe the administrators
know exactly what we are pay
ing for; however, it would be
nice as a $9000.00 student, to
know exactly what I am paying
for. So I ventured to the wise
man that would know the an
swers to such a dilemma, Mr.
Walter Hall, Montreat-Ander
son College’s Business Man
ager. Apparently, the money is
used for the third notion that
