Ofthe67to register, 5 did so as independents and 12 signed up as Demo crats. The remain ing 50, the largest single contingent, aligned themselves with the Republican Party. The upcoming election has fostered an increase in politi cal involvement among students at M-AC; for example, the M-AC Re publican Party. The executive offi cers of the M-AC Republican Party are the following: President, Bob Graham; Vice-President, Don Collins, Jr.; Second Vice-President, Bob Graham - President Jennifer Branum; Secretary, Brian Pernell; and Treasurer, Ann-Lois Snyder. The goal of the party, as stated by Collins is, "To pro mote the Republican Party and its candi dates on campus, and to help educate stu dents on the political issues.” The party hopes to have Re publican representa tives Charles Taylor and Don Collins, Sr. speak here at M-AC. The executive offi cers are planning to attend the state convention on September 19th in Fayetteville. The M-AC Republican Party is a member of the North Caro lina Federation of College Republi cans. The Rever end Dr. Bell holds a B. A. from Wheaton Col lege and a Masters of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary. Honors to Dr. Bell have included the Doctor of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Semi nary, Doctor of Human Letters from Roberts Wesleyan College, and Doctor of Letters from Grove City College Dr. Bell has served in nu merous positions at every level within thePCUSA. He has been involved in evangelisitic missions and lecture ships around the world. Bell has pastored churches in Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. In 1990, he authored the book Moorings in a World Adrift: Answers for Chris tians Who Dare to Ask Why. The M-AC Republican Party would like to encourage students to become involved and support local candidates.
