The Americans with disabili ties act of 1990 (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990. Presi dent Bush challenged the business community when he said, "You the businessmen, have in your hands the key to the success of this act, for you can unlock a splendid re source of untapped human poten tial." CAREERS & disABLED Expo gives companies, government agencies, hospitals and universities the opportunity to meet this chal lenge by promoting their commit ment to the recruitment, selection, advancement, and retention of people with disabilities. M-AC was supposed to be the whipping boy of the tourney, but much to everyone's surprise, they defeated King College, a perineal power in the Cav's new conference. King came to Montreat with many excuses, fully expecting to avenge and humiliated the Cavs at home. Only eight minutes and 35 seconds into the game. King was in shock. King found themselves at a 19-10 deficit, then after calling time out found themselves at the losing end of an 11 -0 run. The Cavs and the fans were on fire. By the end of the half the Cavs had built a 41-24 lead. Kevin Laws and Rodney Scott came out in overdrive in the secr ond half scoring 10 unanswered points. Before the midway point in the 2nd half the Cavs had built a 67- 39 lead and were coasting to vic tory. King had came to conquer, only to experience defeat in the Cav's House. The next conference team to enter the Montreat gate was Vir ginia Interment. Virginia Interment is ranked in the top 20 of the NAIA and was supposed to blow the young Cavaliers off of the court. The crowd might have though this game hopeless, but luckily, no body told the Cavs. They came out unintimidated, taking Vir. Int. to the hoops, fighting for rebounds and playing awesome D. By the half the Cavs had earned a 41-37 lead. You could see the surprise and the fear in the eyes of the Vir. Int. squad. The Cav defense allowed Vir ginia Interment to open the half with a 25-3 run. With only 10 minutes left in the game, the Cavs found themselves down by 20 points. All hope seemed lost. A lesser team would have rolled over and died, but not the Cavs. With a little less than 8 min utes on the clock Virginia Inter ment began to rotate out their start ers. The Cavs battled and with 6:17 left to go, the weary starters reen- teredplay. ButtheCavsdidn’t break, they continued to close in on the lead, pulling within 9 points with 4:18 left. Finally the Vir. Int. squad pulled together, and won a scary one in the Cav's House 93-81. Last Thursday, Tennessee Temple entered the Cav's House. Aaron Gabriel had his best night as a Cav, scoring in excess of 20 points. Rodney Scott put on a slam dunk exhibition. When the smoke dissi pated, the opposing coach had been ejected and the Cavs had earned a 91-83 victory. fense Intelligence Agency, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Just One Break, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Defense Intelligence Agency, Food & Drug Administration, Herman Miller, Inc., IBM Corporation, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Washington Hospital Center.
