We have no idea how much potential damage they can create. Let's use generic names as an example. Jane and John spend considerable time together. Chances are that they are developing a sincere platonic friendship. Meanwhile back on campus, Sam and Sarah see that Jane and John are spending time together and assume that they are building much more than a friendship. Jane and/or John may want more than a platonic relationship, but not with each other. We have a hard time realizing that not all people are suited for each other in all capacities. If Sam tells Sarah that John and Jane are a couple, then Sarah automatically assumes that John is off limits. Sam, of course assumes that Jane is off limits. The chances of them getting to know one are drastically reduced. In most cases, as much as a casual "Hello!" is eliminated from the vocabulary of the interested person out of fear of rejection. If Sarah won't even say hello to John because she's afraid that he 11 reject her, then John assumes that Sarah couldn't care if he even exists, and he won't take the chance because he too fears rejection. This example may seem a little far fetched, but I don't think is at all unlikely. Folks, we don t have time for this. When we do this we are projecting, what Sarah, Sam, and John have all projected. They have the facts. Only God himself knows what tomorrow brings. Psalm 139 "...Even before a word is on my tongue, lo O Lord, thou knowest it altogether... We must live for today, not tomorrow. There are several passages in the Bible which tell us not to worry or be anxious. We can only do what is right for us today. The only control we have over tomorrow is how to mess it up. We can make that member of the opposite sex dislike us, but we can't make them like us. In the long run, none of this stuff matters anyway. For all we know, Jesus himself might come back to earth while you are reading this article. Perhaps he got her before. Those of you who believe won't be here anymore to think about it. For this reason, nothing of the earth has any bearing on tomorrow, with the exception of our walk with Christ. Let s make a new commitment Let s commit to living in our own lives, staying out of other lives, not projecting about our own lives, much less anyone else’s. Live with the goal of pleasing Christ to the best of our abilities. I know we will all be happier! Exodus 20:16 tells us in the covenant that "you shall not give false testimony against you neighbor." I have been a victim of these types of things on both ends. I have been the one talked about, and I have been stupid enough to listen when others talk about someone else. Lets all commit to living up to this ninth commandment. Stop today and ask Christ to help you, and watch the magic of peaceful existence develop. very close, Hobbs with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 steals was named the Aletheia's player of the game. On December 1, the ladies had a chance to redeem themselves with a 104 - 74 point victory over Virginia IntamonL The team played extremely weU, with6outofthe lOplayersscoring in the double digits. Traci Haynes led the team in rebounding by having 10 total rebounds. Carri Lucksavage who is named the Aletheia's player of the game, had 20 points and six rebounds. This game set the tone for the game that occuned on December 3 against Ten nessee Temple. Although Tennessee Temple came out hard in the first few minutes, the Lady Cavs quickly took charge, and kept charge for most of the game. The visiting team never held a lead for long ifataU. The home girls really showed this visiting team that they were ready to play. Shon Snipes, Alison Swanger, and Amy Baker led the team in points. While, Jennifer Hobbs and Snipes led the team in rebounding. Snipes, again along with Alison Swanger and Stephanie Youngtookthe lead in steals. Swanger, senior captain, showed her unselfishness and ability to play 'Team Ball" by having six assists. All around the whole team did what it took to pull out a victory. The ladies came out to play and it showed in the final score of 83-58. Although thedecisionofplayer of the game was a tough on, between Jennifer Hobbs and Shon Snipes, the final vote wesittoShon "Snippy" Snipes.
