l^lint Hill Community by Ruby Ledbetter On Sunday night at the 7 p.m. worship service, Michael Sessom of Evanston, Illinois will give an organ concert at Flint Hill. Mrs. Sessom will sing accompanied by her husband. Michael has a music degree from ASU in Boone in Organ Performance. He was also minister of music at Virginia and organist. He also received a degree in Mortuary Science from a college in Virginia. Michael is employed by Reuter Organ Company of Lawrance, Kansas and he designed the pipe organ at Flint Hill Baptist Church. He is now employed by the National Foundation of Funeral Services in Evanston, 111. Mrs. Sessom has studied voice in Richmond, Va. and Opera in Houston, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Brooks announce the birth of a daughter born at Cleveland Memorial Hospital in Shelby. She weighed 6 lbs. and 10 oz. and her name is Allison Joy. Allison has a brother. Jay, 8 years old. The baby’s grandparents of Rowan County are spending some time here. ♦ * The musical 'T Am A Premise” was presented at the morning worship hour Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. Allen and family of New Mexico were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Seable Grant and family and were also visitors for the performance. Other visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Raduly of Shelby and Mr. and Mrs. Sheilds ofChesnee, S.C. * ♦ Mr. and Mrs. John Gibson and Stacy of Virginia are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Scruggs and toren. * ♦ Mrs. Jeann Hopkins of Fort Valley, Ga. is spending some time with her mother, Mrs. Rex Ledbetter and other relatives. ♦ ♦ Mr, and Mrs. Everette Ledbetter and family have returned home after a week at the coast. * * Mrs. Hattie Ledbetter and Mrs. Gladys Ledbetter and their granddaughter recently spent a week at Myrtle Beach, S.C. * * Tim Vinesette, Grady Blanton and Mrs. Debra Webb are patients at Cleveland Metfiorial along with Mrs. Carl Weaver. * ♦ '.iZ- 'i -ff, mm Wedding Held The Pearson reunion was held in the fellowship hall of the church on Sunday. ♦ * The Bible School Commencement was held Sunday night with a total of 162 enrolled for the week’s program. GREENVILLE, S.C.. Jonna Lee Roberts and David Mark Hamrick were united in marriage Saturday in the First Baptist Church. Dr. C. David Matthews officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. Lisa Roberts, vocalist, andStenenSpoon, organist,provided music. The bride’s parents are Dr. and Mrs. John E. Roberts of Greenville. She was given in marriage by her father. Jill Roberts of Greenville was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Julie Roberts, Karen Shepherd and Danielle Paris, all of Greenville; Carol Roberts of Maryville, Tenn.; and Beth Daughtry of Columbia, S.C. Son of Mr. and Mrs. David A. Hamrick of Route 2, Shores, Fla. A reception was given in the church fellowship hall. The bride received a degree in political science in 1981 from Furman University. A 1976 graduate of Crest High School, the bridegroom received a political science degree from Furman Un iversity in 1981. After a trip to Nassau and the Bahamas, the couple will live in Greenville, m Mr. and Mrs. Durham Ledbetter,Olen Ledbetter, William Mode and James Ledbetter, Ashley and Andrea, spent Friday and Saturday at Lake Wylie. ** Shelby, the bridegroom chose his father as best man. Ushers were Tom Lail and Dean Beaver, both of Shelby; Tully Stoudemayer and the bride’s brother, Glenn Roberts, both of Greenville; and Marshall Bettendorf of Miami Mr, and Mrs. Horace Moore, Mrs. Bill Thrift of Belmont spent the week at Wilmington with Mrs. Thrift’s son and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Travis Ledbetter visited Mrs. Irene Metcalf at Ellenboro over the weekend. ** Mrs. D.H, Connor of Hickory is spending some time here with her family , the Durham Ledbetters.
