White, Jr. of Richmond, Va. visited Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Harris, Jr. and Mrs. Selma Harris over the weekend. Dogs have been domesticated for 10,000 years, cats for no more than 5,000 years and probably much less. Mr. and Mrs, Bob Hamrick, Bradley Wester, and Mr. and Mrs. Ranny Blanton enjoyed a fish fry on Monday evening at the Hamrick’s place on Houser Lake. Mr. Hamrick had prepared the delicious fish and Mrs, Hamrick added the trimmings to a very tasty meal. * * The Jack Dawsons were overnight guests Monday of Mr, and Mrs. Wayne Houser in Florence, S.C, The weekend guests of the Dawsons Included Mr. and Mrs. Houser and Susie of Florence, Mr. and Mrs. A.y, Morgan of Aiken, S.C, and Mrs, William Putnam, ♦ ♦ Baptist Woman held their regular meeting on Tuesday evening with Mrs. Wake Jolley. Mrs. Garland Jolley presided over the meeting. MIsston Action plans were made and discussed. Officers were elected and anew hostess list was compiled. Mrs, Ronald McSwaln had charge of the very Interesting program after which Mrs. Jolley served delicious refreshments. ** Mrs. Kathleen Murray was an overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Jolley on Thursday, Visitors in the Jolley home over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jolley of Cliffside and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Harris of the Campfield Community. ** Mr. Gene Mlntz and Mrs. Sara Lawson of Augusta, Ga. were visitors in the home of Dr. and Mrs. Karl Jordan, Jr. over the weekend. They came especially for the wedding of Jimmy Jordan and Lisa Vlnesett in the Flint Hill Baptist Church on Saturday evening. Mr. Mlntz served as an usher. Also, visiting in the Jordan home on Saturday were Dr. an Mrs. Mike Ezell, Stevie and David, of Chesnee, S.C, * Mrs. Ida Simmons attended the 84th birthday celebration of her step-mother, Mrs, Mary Lovelace, in Forest City on Saturday evening. Also attending were Miss Ottlie Long of Forest City, Bill McMurray and two daughters, Barbara and Allyson, of Cary, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Curt Simmons of Kings Mountain.
