WILLIAM L. MUNSON. SPECIAL CLASSES. Special courses of instruction have been , arranged for the officers who hpe- been assigned to the base hos pital No. ,54. The classes are sched uled as follows; Monday—3 to 4 p. m.—Instruction in French. Tuesday—1:30 to 2:30 p. m.—In struction in Whr Surgery. Wednesday—3 to 4 p. m.—Instruc tion in French. Thursday—1:30 to 2:30—Instruction in recent Medical and Laboratory lit erature. Friday—3 to 4 p. m.—Instruction in French. Saturday—1:30 to 2:30—instruction in Administration. DRILL CLASS. There has been started a class in drill for tire officers of the base hos pital under the directorship of I.ieut. Meade. This class meets eve.-y day . except Saturday and Sunday at 4 p. m. CAPTAIN ENTERTAINS. Capt. Nealon entertained at cards last Monday evening. Several of the officers were present. Imnoh was serv. ed. Capt. McMahon won the first prize, and Lieut. Algood got the consolaticn offering. This is the beginning of a chain of parties to be given at the officers’ quarters. LIEUT. ALGOOD RETURNS. Lieut. Algood has returned fr-un his leave and reports that he had a very pleasant visit at his home. Wiiile en route upon his return to du.'v, some one stole his suit case contamm.; a uniform and several other articles of wearing apparel. ON TEN DAY LEAVE. Lieuts. Lee and Sharry left the hos pital Thursday for a ten days’ visit at their homes. SPEAKS ON TETANUS. There was a meeting of the surgical division of base hospital No. 54 at y o'clock Thursday morning. . Maior Wainwright spoke on tetanus and it’s treatmeint. These meetings will be held at the same time each motning and some topic of interest will be discussed by some member of the sur gical staff. CAPT. CARNEY IMPROVES. Captain Harold Carney, who has been seriously ill for several days from an attack of pneumonia. is re ported to be improving. ITALIAN BANQUET The thirty Italian men of the de- tachement were off duty on Friday af ternoon in recognition of the anniver sary of Italy’s entrance into the world war.
