PLACAK TO LEAVE GETS FEW MORE JOBS» Lieutenant Walter Mltinger will take on a (ew more Jobs as the result of the forming of base hospital No. 54, He has been appointed as registrar for the Camp Greene base hospital to suc ceed Captain Nicholas Zlnner, former registrar, who will be a part of the new unit. The registrar’s office also carries the position, of presiding over summary court and a place upon the disability board. C., while attempting to stay within sight of the posterior surface of the anatomy of Major Wainwrlght. Operation, same date, blisters opened and hot air re moved. No anaesthtlcs. L. D. Unde termined. 2. Heat, prickly, acute. Attack came on while seated in Liberty Tent watching a trombone player. L. D. No e. p. e. MRS. SHEEP IMPROVES. The wife of Lieutenant-Colonel Sheep continues to improve. She was operated upon last Saturday and for a time her condition was critical. ENJOYED DANCE. Capt. B. C. McMahon of this hos pital has been ordered to Evacuation Hosp. No. 13 now mobilizing at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Several of the enlisted men from the base hospital enjoyed the dance which was given by St. Martin’s church at the Myers Park Country Club Monday evening. The members of the St. Mar tin’s congregation have been enter taining the hospital men on every sec ond Monday night throughout the winter. The appreciatiou of the soldiers and the fine entertainment offered have been shown by the large attendance at these affairs. Capt. William P. Evans is home on a ten days’ leavel REMAINS TAKEN TO HOME. Major Wainwright has organized a hike “class” for the officers of Base Hosp. 54 The hikes start each even ing at 6:30 from the officers quarters. Seven or eight miles is nothing breez ing at the end stepping high wide and handsome. Lieut William L. Munson is home on a ten days’ leave. Capt. A. V. P. Pardelmann now wears a,smile and two bars. The smokes were passed last Monday. Major McRae is organizing a class in the art of self-defense; Those de siring to “.shape up ar" bit” should get particulars from the major at once. The late order from Washington states that the pay day muster is to be dispensed with until after the war. The presence of the mien will be shown by their signing of the pay roll. The next muster for the base hospital force will be bh June 30, This new order state.s that the pay shall be in charge cf the personnel of ficer in the future. That means that Captain Sheaf will preside over the giving out of hew bills. Formerly; the power was with the detachment com mander. Captain Joseph C. Placak, connected with the laboratory department of the base hospital, has received orders to leave the base hospital soon. He is expecting to' be taken for over, sea service.. Captain Placak has been at Camp Greene base hospital since last Au gust. He was one of the first men sent here when the big hospital was planned. His work has always been at the laboratory. Previous to his' being commissioned in the Medical Reserve Corps he was of Division of Tuberculosis and Su perintendent of Public Instructions for the city of Cleveland, Ohio. Rankin is first sergeant of the base hospital No. 54 organiza tion in which company, Webb was a cook. Max. Webb, who was twenty-seven years old, had been in the army but two months before his Illness. He was sick but a few days before his death. Both of his parents are living in Springfield, Ohio.
